The Delaware Department of Education released the results of the 2021 State Assessment on August 10, and Sussex Academy was ranked among the top 1-5 schools in Delaware in all subjects tested and recorded the rate. highest participation rate in the state.

For English Language Arts Grades 3-5, Sussex Academy exceeded the state proficiency level by 39 percent and was ranked # 2 in the state with a proficiency level of 64 percent. Newark Charter was ranked # 1 with a skill level of 66%.

For English Language Arts Grades 6-8, Sussex Academy exceeded the state’s 43 percent proficiency level and was ranked # 1 in the state with an 83 percent proficiency level.

For Mathematics in Grades 3 through 5, Sussex Academy exceeded the state’s 28% mastery level and was ranked # 4 in the state with a 50% mastery level. Newark Charter was No. 1 with 65 percent fluency, MOT No. 2 with 63 percent fluency, and Cape Henlopen was No. 3 with 51 percent fluency.

For math in grades 6-8, Sussex Academy topped the state proficiency level by 25 percent and was ranked # 2 in the state with a proficiency level of 59 percent. Newark Charter was No. 1 with 69 percent.

The grade 11 students were given the academic aptitude test.

For the SAT evidence-based reading and writing category, Sussex Academy exceeded state jurisdiction by 49 percent and ranked # 4 in the state with a mastery of 76 percent. Charter School of Wilmington ranked No. 1 with 96 percent master’s degree, Newark Charter ranked No. 2 with 86 percent master’s degree, and Cab Calloway ranked No. 3 with 79 percent master’s degree.

For the SAT Math category, Sussex Academy exceeded state jurisdiction by 28 percent and ranked # 3 in the state with a mastery of 57 percent. Charter School of Wilmington ranked No. 1 with 89 percent proficiency; Newark Charter ranked # 2 with 64% proficiency.

For the SAT Essay category, Sussex Academy exceeded state mastery by 44% and ranked # 2 in the state with a mastery of 78%. Charter School of Wilmington ranked No. 1 with 82 percent proficiency.

For grades 5 and 8 of Science and Biology, Sussex Academy exceeded state jurisdiction by 24% and was tied for fifth in the state with Delaware Military Academy and Early College High School in the State of Delaware with 50% jurisdiction. Charter School of Wilmington ranked # 1 with a proficiency level of 76 percent. Sussex Tech ranked # 2 with 65% proficiency. Newark Charter School ranked # 3 with 62% master’s degree and Polytech ranked No. 4 with 53% master’s degree.

For Grades 4, 7 and 11 of Social Studies, Sussex Academy exceeded the state proficiency level by 30 percent and ranked # 2 in the state with a proficiency level of 65 for hundred. The Newark Charter School ranked # 1 with a proficiency level of 66%.
