Psychologists launch unique IQ test for Indians


Hyderabad: A team of senior psychologists from Hyderabad led by Emeritus Professor of Educational Psychology and Former Director, Developmental and Learning Disorders, University of Alberta, Canada, Dr Jagannath Prasad Das developed and launched the Brain-Based Intelligence Test (BBIT), a unique IQ test exclusively for the Indian population.

This test is designed for the Indian population with a huge sample size and enables educators and curriculum designers to improve cognitive processes for a solid foundation in academic learning, especially in reading and math .

Devised by Dr. JP Das, the test also helps clinicians diagnose impaired cortical function, evident in conditions such as stroke, epilepsy, and traumatic brain injury. Additionally, this test has diagnostic criteria to identify hyperactivity and specific learning difficulties in children.

Dr Das is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and was inducted into the Order of Canada in 2015, the highest honor that Canada can bestow on its citizens.
