Few game shows in television history are as iconic as “Jeopardy!” Answering questions on everything from “American stuff” and “state currencies” to “spelling” and “we love the planet” is a favorite pastime of many Americans. In honor of Alex Trebek, the show’s iconic host who recently passed away at the age of 80 after a long battle with cancer, 24/7 Tempo went through J! Archives, a site created by fans of the series that lists clues going up to 1984. The correct answer to each of the 50 clues we have selected is one of the 50 states.
“Danger!” premiered in 1964 as a daytime television show. It became so popular that in 1984 it was moved to prime time, where it remained. As is the case with many long-running shows, ratings go up and down – it was even possibleCelé in 1975 due to low ratings, and relaunched three years later.
